LCG supported the agency with implementing their first Project Labor Agreement  and Construction Careers Policy for the Bus Rapid Transit project.  LCG coordinated with the FTA to secure a waiver for the project to allow local hiring goals and in addition to managing all aspects of PLA and labor compliance, LCG oversaw a Construction Careers Awareness Campaign to increase interest in and understanding of the process for securing employment in the construction industry.  This work involved identifying and conducting presentations to local community-based and social service organizations, churches, career centers, Alameda County reentry department, Peralta Colleges and Alameda County high schools.  Collaborated with AC Transit communication and marketing staff to develop talking points for radio advertisement and appropriate imaging for bus shelter advertisements. LCG developed marketing materials to outline the career process and various local support agencies.  LCG also oversaw a team of Outreach Ambassadors who engaged with individuals in East Oakland and San Leandro to share career and project information. As a result of the radio, web and ambassador campaigns over 400 individuals accessed the agency career page and completed a construction career inquiry form.
