BART has implemented a Small Business Support Services Program (SBSS) on many of it’s major capital projects. The SBSS Program is to provide support to subcontractors of varying scopes and sizes in the following areas: change order preparation, scheduling, estimating, construction cost accounting, materials and project management.
On the Warm Springs LTSS Project LCG managed a supportive services team which was composed of a Construction/Contract Specialist; Estimator/Scheduler; and Accounting/Finance Specialist. LCG supported 40 firms during the course of the project. Our work on the project involved hosting workshops and one-one-one training sessions for the SBE/MBE subcontractors working on the project. Additionally, given the level of support needed for several of the SBE firms, we provided full-time staff to support them with various construction administrative tasks during project close-out.
